Literature

There exists a large corpus of literature on the research process and research methods. Becoming familiar with the research method literature is an essential part of carrying out research, because a deep understanding of the methods and applying them in the right way are the prerequisites of a successful research project.

Becoming familiar with the research method literature will enable you to view the variety of research methods and acknowledge how scholars in diverse disciplines have different notions and use variations of particular research methods.

You will discover in the research method literature that there may exist profoundly different forms or emphases of a particular method.

Furthermore, you will discover that the corpus provides a range of definitions for almost every concept related to research methods and carrying out research.

A selection of useful guides to research and research methods are listed below.

The Library of University of Jyväskylä has a vast selection of research method literature. The central part of the method literature is classified as the Methods class.
